Hunters Accommodation & Facilities

Medical Information

  • Magersfontein Safaris is situated in a malaria free area.
  • Excellent medical facilities are available in Kimberley (only 30 min drive) and a first aid kit is on stand-by at the camp.

 

Weather

South Africa is an area of vast weather variants depending on the season.
Summer: October to March (60oF – 100oF)
Winter: April – August (32oF – 80oF)

 

Travel & Flights

Your travel agent should book you to Johannesburg (Oliver Tambo International) from there you need to take a domestic flight to Kimberley (1 hour, 20 min). Here you will be met by a Magersfontein Safaris representative and transported to our base camp – a 30 minute drive. If prefered we will can do bookings for you.

 

Bow & Rifle Hunting

  • Khaki or camouflage colours are recommended for hunting.
  • Well fitted boots (broke-in)
  • 1 x warm jacket
  • 1 x warm sweater
  • 2 x long pants
  • 4 x t-shirts
  • 2 x sweat shirts
  • 5 x underwear

Food, Quality of Game, Sleeping quarters, Laundry, Transportation, Ability to adjust to situations as they arise, all Excellent. Nothing bad or average about your place. All top notch.
